CLINICAL COUNSELLOR CERTIFIED EXECUTIVE COACH ACCREDITED WILDERNESS GUIDE

Master of Science in Counselling with a Specialization in Clinical Mental Health

I was born on a float-house on a mountain lake in BC and raised between Canada and the U.S. My family was adventurous & entrepreneurial.

I believe in shaking things up—challenging conventional therapy & coaching to create something deeper and more transformative. I partner with you to walk you home to a heart-centered mind, body, and spirit. I walk the talk and have 25-years of personal therapy and coaching under my belt.

I know first hand that happiness comes in waves, if you know what I mean.

My Unique Approach
to Therapy& Coaching

I understand how your experiences impact your nervous system. I work with origin and wisdom gained from your life’s experiences, not just symptoms. My practice is informed by research in neuroscience, the benefits of nature, art, and mind-body disciplines. Our work together may include a focus on your strengths, immersion in nature, art as expression, sensory awareness, visualization and self-regulation practices.

This is the art and science of therapy and coaching.

Your Guide to personal and professional Mastery

Words I live by: Vitality, Kindness, Integrity

I blend my skills from outdoor leadership, with clinical counselling, and executive coaching. As a wilderness guide for over a decade, I guided others safely into the wild. As a therapist I can guide you safely into the wilderness within. As an executive coach, I can guide you into the wild potential of your future & your life’s work.

I harness nature’s restorative capacity and take therapy & coaching outdoors & on retreat.

Clinically in practice since 2016, with a focus on nature-based & expressive therapies since 2008.

Certified Executive Coach through Royal Roads University.

Accredited Canadian Outdoor Leader in 2001 (COLT).

Disciplined student of mind-body practices: yoga, Qi gong and meditation.

A resilient, creative, calm, whole-hearted and joyful professional.

Engaged in art & adventure sports as a doorway to flow, embodiment & spiritual connection.

The creation of Akoya is my life’s work.

Your therapist and coach are only as good
as their lifestyle and wellbeing.
